Building a Crowdfunding Future in Italy

Back during the first OuiShare Drink in Rome, we met Daniela Castrataro dand Carlo Frinolli, co-organizers of the first crowdfunding convention in Italy: Crowdfuture. The event will take place on October 27th in Rome and will feature conferences and workshops to raise awareness about crowdfunding and boost its development.

The web has already liberated talents and ideas. Now it’s time to liberate capital. Crowdfunding [is] a democratisation of capital that is happening quickly all around the world.

Co-organised by twintangibles & nois3lab in collaboration with La Sapienza University of Rome and The Hub Roma coworking space, the Crowdfuture convention will highlight issues, challenges, solutions, and insights into the evolution of crowdfunding. In the morning, La Sapienza will host events that introduce the characteristics of the different crowdfunding schemes : the reward-based model in which people give a certain amount of money and get a specific reward (ex: KickStarter, Eppela), the equity-based model in which the crowd invests small to medium amounts in companies (ex: CrowCube, SiamoSoci), and the peer-to-peer lending model (ex: Zopa, Smartika). The conferences will also dig into the legal issues that are challenging its development, as well as the trends that will shape its future.

The afternoon will take place at the Hub Rome and will be co-created by the participants to feature co-design workshops, platform presentations and open discussions on a various range of topics such as crowdfunding for open source projects or territorial development, how to create a successful campaign, and much more. The event is open to anyone at a small fee, and early bird tickets are currently available through their crowdfunding campaign (you saw that coming, didn't you ?) https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=K0pQeN0byYU
